OUR FIRM — OVERVIEW Nine Thirty Capital is a New York based registered investment advisor that manages assets for a select group of ultra-high-net-worth families and institutions from around the world. The firm’s sponsor entity was originally co-founded in 1997 by Stuart J. Rabin as a family investment platform to manage the capital of two prominent New York based families. In 2004 Nine Thirty Capital was launched to provide the same investment management services to other prominent families as well as to institutional clients. In January 2009 the firm was “spun-out” by Stuart J. Rabin as a fully independent investment management business. Nine Thirty Capital’s customized and distinct investment portfolios are designed to both (1) preserve client wealth and (2) effectively compound capital. The firm has extensive investment experience managing large pools of capital on behalf of individuals, trusts and foundations in the areas of public and private equity, real estate and other forms of alternative investments. While asset allocation and diversification are integral to the investment process, Nine Thirty Capital believes that manager selection is absolutely critical to realizing long-term investment goals. As such, the firm has always utilized a non-traditional approach to creating and monitoring its investment portfolios. A client’s assets are generally allocated to third-party investment managers that the firm believes are “world class” investors within their respective areas of expertise. These managers are often hedge funds in which Nine Thirty Capital has established a direct and often a long-standing personal relationship with the fund’s principal decision-maker(s). The Nine Thirty Capital team works closely with each of our family and institutional partners to establish investment objectives and guidelines and then to customize each portfolio for the benefit of the family members or other stakeholders. Each client’s assets are generally managed using separate and discrete legal entities that provide complete transparency to the underlying portfolio of managers. Nine Thirty Capital’s principals are invested utilizing the same strategy and approach as our clients. The firm’s philosophical foundation is based on a steadfast adherence to core principals and the fundamental belief that an alignment of interests with our partners is absolutely critical to long-term success.
