In the aftermath of the various fraud cases recently unmasked, ultra high net worth families and institutional investors have a more acute concern about the safety of their portfolios and about the commitment of assets to outside money managers. The joint venture team forged by Nine Thirty Capital and Giuliani Security & Safety has responded to this industry need by together designing a new and detailed multi-phase Investigative Due Diligence process. The joint venture will be applying techniques and utilizing a disciplined approach that we believe are “state of the art” in the money management world. Our proprietary analysis of many of the frauds revealed in recent years and our proactive incorporation of a series of “lessons learned” into the investment manager review process has resulted in a robust Investigative Due Diligence framework for the evaluation of Nine Thirty Capital’s underlying fund managers and their counter-party relationships. Mayor Giuliani is a key player in our apolitical and non-partisan business venture. He brings the highest level of integrity and an impressive leadership style to our effort, based on his lifetime of service to New York and the nation – including extensive experience combating crime and corruption. The joint venture is co-managed by Stuart J. Rabin, the President and CEO of Nine Thirty Capital and Pasquale (Pat) J. D'Amuro, the CEO of Giuliani Security & Safety. Pat is the former number three man at the FBI and has a very impressive background and skill set that is directly applicable to the work required. Pat D’Amuro and the “world class” group of former law enforcement professionals on his team have operated at the highest levels of government and within the intelligence community. The Giuliani team also has a long history of successfully rooting out and fighting organized and white collar crime, fraud and other malfeasance; having led major terrorism, money laundering and fraud investigations as well as related assignments. The purpose of the Giuliani joint venture is first and foremost to protect Nine Thirty Capital’s investment management clients. As such, the effort is currently exclusive to Nine Thirty Capital and we are not offering its services to outside parties. With this joint venture, Nine Thirty Capital has essentially combined its portfolio management capabilities (including customized portfolio construction, manager selection and investment entity oversight and its existing due diligence processes) with a purpose-built expert Investigative Due Diligence team and process. We believe that the result is a new and industry leading methodology designed to further safeguard invested assets for the benefit of existing and future Nine Thirty Capital clients.
