ine Thirty Capital is a New York based registered investment advisor that manages assets for a select group of families from around the world that have accumulated substantial wealth.  The firm’s sponsor entity was originally founded in 1997 as a family investment platform to invest the capital of two prominent New York based families.  In 2004 Nine Thirty Capital was launched to provide the same investment management services to other prominent families.

Nine Thirty Capital’s customized and distinct investment portfolios are designed to both (1) preserve each family’s capital and (2) to grow each family’s assets.  The firm has extensive investment experience managing large pools of capital on behalf of individuals, trusts and foundations in the areas of public and private equity, real estate and other forms of alternative investments.

While asset allocation and diversification are integral to the investment process, Nine Thirty Capital believes that manager selection is a key to realizing long-term family investment goals.  As such, the firm has always utilized a non-traditional approach to creating and monitoring investment portfolios.

A family’s capital is generally allocated to third-party investment managers that the firm believes are “world class” investors within their respective areas of expertise.  These managers are often hedge funds in which Nine Thirty Capital has established a direct and often personal relationship with the fund’s principal decision-maker(s).

The Nine Thirty Capital team works closely with each of our family partners to establish investment objectives and guidelines and then to customize portfolios for the benefit of family members.  Each family’s assets are managed using separate and discrete legal entities.  Nine Thirty Capital’s executive team and its original families are also invested utilizing the same strategy and approach.  The firm’s philosophical foundation is based on the fundamental belief that an alignment of interests with our partners is absolutely critical to the long term success of all stakeholders.
